Pennsylvania Electrical Contractor Solutions preferred contractor Hirneisen Electric is working to complete the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology dorm project, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
As previously reported, the new dorm hall will increase on-campus housing capacity by 300 students.
After construction was halted for five-weeks due to orders from Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, Hirneisen Electric brought in extra electricians to complete the project on-time and on-budget.
The highly-trained and highly-skilled Hirneisen Electricians quickly completed the conduit and rough-in, allowing for an easy completion of the project.
Now back to pre-shutdown crew size, Hirneisen employees are working on lighting, fire alarm and data systems, receptacles and switches, as construction nears completion.
Additionally, the building was shut down over a recent weekend to allow the Hirneisen crew to safely remove old gear, re-feed existing panels, install and feed new panels and install and feed the new 800 amp service.
Hirneisen Electric was the right electrical contractor for this project, as they have previously worked at Thaddeus Stevens on other projects.
The dorm project is expected to be completed on Aug. 28, as Hirneisen has tackled adversity on their way to finishing their position of the work on-time and on-budget.
