Pennsylvania Electrical Contractor Solutions preferred contractor HB Frazer is working to complete a huge distribution center renovation project on time and under budget.
On a daily basis, PECS contractors work on various-sized projects, but this particular project is massive. The HB Frazer electricians are working to install 387,485 feet of electrical conduit needed to protect 1,468,867 feet of wire.
In order to work inside the large distribution center, install all the electrical components, HB Frazer installed three temporary diesel generators - a 350 KW generator and two 250 KW generators - to power the entire facility.
Throughout this project, there have been 1,791 new light fixtures installed, including the following types of lights:
- 2 x 4
- 2 x 2
- High-hats
- Pendants
- Low bay lights
- Surface lights
Besides installing new light fixtures, they also relocated almost 1,200 high-bay lights.
In order to power such a large facility, electricians had to make a major upgrade to the power system.
HB Frazier electricians had to perform a 3-day shutdown for the entire distribution center. Work began on Friday and had to be completed by Monday morning to replace the following equipment and to allow the other trades to perform their work:
- A new 15 KW switch
- Swap out the old gear
- Vender, test voltages and set breakers
Additional work performed at the distribution center included added motor controls for rooftop smoke exhaust system, transfer switches, transformers, branch panels, distribution panels and safety switches.
