In 2015, construction began on the Energy Center at Lancaster General Hospital. The goal of this energy center is to cut costs for Penn Medicine General Health through lower utility expenses, improved reliability and reduction on the environmental impact of the hospital.

Due to their expertise in medical construction and their relationship with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, Hirneisen was selected to work on the Energy Center project.

Now five years later, they are back and working on expanding the size of the Energy Center.

Currently, the Hirneisen electricians are installing conduit and doing prep work for when the project ramps up. Eventually, their expertise will be needed to install a third on-site generator to aid in the expansion of the campus and modify an existing section of offices at the hospital.
