KNG Electric, a preferred Pennsylvania Electrical Contractor Solutions (PECS) contractor, recently donated time to restore pavilions at Rustic Park in Birdsboro.
A group of 25 apprentices and 10 journeymen electricians volunteered about 200-man hours to restore the pavilions to a usable condition.
The pavilions were in disrepair and needed to be replaced. This is where KNG got involved.
Unfortunately, the pavilions had fallen into a state of disrepair due to their age and flooding from Hay Creek. With the restoration of the pavilions, they are now able to be used for events and picnics.
The KNG Electric and PECS volunteers installed about 500 feet of rigid conduit and just over 4,000 feet of wire. Materials for the project were donated by a different local contractor.
KNG Electric and PECS volunteers completed the work with precision. Their expertise and combined years of training made them more than qualified to perform the work. Thanks to their rigorous training, KNG Electric and PECS volunteers completed the project safely, without any issues.
The volunteers also equipped the pavilions with GFCI outlets and lighting, allowing the pavilions to be used at night.
One resident is pleased with the outcome and feels that people will be able to continue using the park and the pavilions for family gatherings. Because of the restoration, the park will be welcoming for years to come.
The park, which is home to many festivals and events throughout the year, is now better equipped to be a useful space for the public thanks to this volunteer project.
