Pennsylvania Electrical Contractor Solutions preferred contractor Hirneisen Electric is working long days in order to complete another project for the Reading School District.
As a part of a wider plan to make improvements at a number of schools in the Reading School District, Hirneisen Electric employees are working at Northeast Middle School on a number of improvement items, including the installation of a duct bank, new service and other items.
Currently, six Hirneisen Electricians are onsite, and are working 12-hour days in order to complete the project in the coming days.
The work began with the installation of a new 480-volt, 2,000-amp electrical service. Additionally, they installed a new duct bank to the new transformer vault.
Additionally, a 10-day shutdown was required so the electricians could safely work on the project and change out switchgear.
During this 10-day shutdown, the main bulk of the work is being completed, including demolition. In addition demolition, other shutdown work included installation of new switchgear, completing all conduits and junction boxes to the new gear, pulling in existing panel cables and new feeder cables, terminating all existing and new feeder cables, installing new cable in the duct bank and terminating the customer side of the transformer.
Due to their experience and expertise in educational construction and their previous work with the Reading School District and others in the region, Hirneisen Electric was the right contractor for this project.
